Scott Woods
Founder & CEO
Scott Woods is the Founder and CEO of Sustainable Generation®, where he sets the strategic direction and drives the company’s technological vision, with a focus on bringing transparency, efficiency, and sustainability to the organic waste industry.
Scott’s path to founding SG was shaped by a career that spans over 30 years across technology, government services, and sustainable infrastructure. Prior to launching SG, he served as CEO of a compost facility development company and previously led as Global Remote Services Vice President at Sun Microsystems. His vision for Sustainable Generation emerged from a desire to create a scalable, repeatable composting solution for both public and private sectors—one that is data-driven, high-performing, and successful.
At SG, Scott drives the integration of cutting-edge technology with environmental best practices, setting a new standard for composting performance and transparency. His extensive background in electrical engineering and business management informs the company’s strategic growth and ongoing commitment to innovation. He holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Montana State University and an MBA from the University of Denver, and he has been recognized as a Leading Clean Energy Ventures Fellow at Boston University and a Technology Intern Fellow at Bellcore (formerly Bell Labs).
Outside of work, Scott enjoys skiing, boating, and spending time with his family.
