Stephanie Kraus
Marketing and Communications Manager
Stephanie Kraus serves as Marketing and Communications Manager at Sustainable Generation®, where she brings a passion for storytelling and sustainability to the forefront of the company’s mission. Her interest in environmental responsibility began early, rooted in her love for local food systems and community resilience. That passion deepened when she witnessed the transformational potential of composting, turning waste into a resource that supports soil health, climate action, and circular economies.
With over 15 years of experience in marketing and sales, Stephanie has worked across industries ranging from automotive to AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction), leading projects in strategy, design, digital marketing, and brand development. She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in International Affairs and Relations and Social Work from Oakland University, an interdisciplinary foundation, that enriches her approach to sustainability communications, enabling her to connect with diverse stakeholders and advocate for solutions that address environmental and social goals. Stephanie has also completed the US Composting Council’s Compost Operations Training Course (COTC) and serves on the USCC Target Organics Committee.
At SG, Stephanie plays a key role in elevating the company’s brand, communicating its measurable impact, and strengthening industry relationships. She excels at translating technical information into compelling narratives that resonate with stakeholders, regulators, and the public. Her leadership extends beyond SG, she serves on the Board of Directors for the Washington Organic Recycling Council (WORC) and the Montevilla Farmers Market in Portland, Oregon.
Based in Portland, she and her husband, toddler, and pets enjoy the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Outside of work, Stephanie finds joy in gardening, local markets, and exploring the outdoors—interests that mirror her professional dedication to community and environmental resilience.
