Scott Saari serves as CFO and COO of Sustainable Generation®. He combines two decades of cross-industry business leadership with a pragmatic, growth-oriented financial and operational strategy approach. Scott’s interest in composting was sparked during his consulting work with SG and reinforced by his early exposure to agricultural practices growing up in a rural community. He quickly recognized the potential of large-scale composting to address climate and waste challenges and was inspired by SG’s mission-driven focus.

Before joining Sustainable Generation®, Scott built a dynamic career across real estate investing, business ownership, and executive leadership. With a B.S. in Accountancy from Brigham Young University, Idaho, and an MBA from the University of North Texas, he developed a strong foundation in financial strategy and operational management. Known for turning around underperforming ventures, Scott brings deep expertise in financial forecasting, risk mitigation, compliance, and scalable growth.

Passionate about team building and mentorship, Scott believes that strong businesses are built by empowered people. As SG grows, he remains focused on maximizing long-term value, optimizing performance, and developing the next generation of leadership.

Outside of work, Scott is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hiking, rafting, fishing, hunting, and birdwatching—activities that mirror SG’s purpose of environmental care. He and his wife, Donyea, have four children—Khobe, Alexis, Arianna, and Gracie—and consider his family his proudest achievement.
