Amy King
Chief People & Design Officer
Amy King serves as Chief People & Design Officer at Sustainable Generation®, where she leads with a deep commitment to people, purpose, and environmental responsibility. Growing up in Seattle, one of the first U.S. cities to mandate residential recycling, Amy’s passion for sustainability began early and has remained central throughout her career.
Her path into the composting industry started with a collaboration between her and SG CEO Scott Woods in the mid-2000s. When Scott shared his vision for launching a composting technology company in 2012, Amy was inspired to contribute her expertise to support that mission. In 2022 she transitioned into a full-time leadership role, fully invested in driving team performance and company-wide impact. Amy holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Design from The Fielding Institute and a Juris Doctorate from Seattle University School of Law, an educational foundation that informs her strategic approach to leadership, team development, and organizational growth.
At SG, she plays a pivotal role in building and nurturing a collaborative culture that attracts, supports, and retains top talent. One of her proudest achievements has been assembling a highly skilled, mission-driven team whose contributions are central to SG’s continued growth and success. Amy’s focus on emotional intelligence, coaching, and team dynamics helps foster a workplace where people thrive, and it reflects her belief that supporting individual growth is foundational to organizational success.
Outside of work, Amy enjoys outdoor photography, spending time with family and friends, and true crime documentaries.
