The pilot was designed to assess the performance of SG\u2019s 8-week composting process and its effectiveness in processing food waste.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"583\" data-end=\"619\">The project allowed MVD to evaluate:<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"620\" data-end=\"824\">\n<li data-start=\"620\" data-end=\"670\">\n<p data-start=\"622\" data-end=\"670\">Feedstock mix ratios and processing capabilities<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"671\" data-end=\"714\">\n<p data-start=\"673\" data-end=\"714\">Odor and VOC emissions control strategies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"715\" data-end=\"766\">\n<p data-start=\"717\" data-end=\"766\">Operational feasibility and regulatory compliance<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"767\" data-end=\"824\">\n<p data-start=\"769\" data-end=\"824\">The viability of entering the organics recycling market<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"826\" data-end=\"1221\">Located in California\u2019s San Joaquin Valley, MVD needed a composting solution that could meet the region\u2019s stringent air regulations, including <strong data-start=\"969\" data-end=\"992\">Rules 4465 and 4466<\/strong> for greenhouse gas (GHG) and VOC emission reductions, enforced by the <strong data-start=\"1063\" data-end=\"1116\">San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District<\/strong>. SG\u2019s proven track record for regulatory compliance made the SG MOBILE\u00ae System the technology of choice.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1223\" data-end=\"1693\">The pilot project not only demonstrated SG\u2019s ability to meet regulatory and operational goals\u2014it also provided critical insights that shaped the design of MVD\u2019s full-scale facility. The experience revealed the need for water addition in their hot, arid climate, prompting the integration of dedicated water piping in the permanent site design. The pilot also reinforced the importance of upstream material collection and source separation in ensuring composting success.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1695\" data-end=\"1822\">As a result of this left;\">RESULTS DELIVERED<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>A Sustainable Solution with True Scale<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mid Valley Disposal\u2019s full-scale facility was the first facility in the Central Valley for diverting large volumes of food scraps to meet California\u2019s organic diversion mandates.<\/p>\n<p>MVD received a $3 million grant from CalRecycle as part of the funding for their full-scale, 16-bunker, 60,000 TPY compost facility.
